Enjoying the Long Weekend

I can’t believe that we are in the last month of summer so soon.

Already we have moved on from the uncomfortable hot days of July to the cool evenings of August.

This is my favourite time of the summer.  Not only because I was married in August, but also because I love the coolness that sweeps in, allowing me to relish the crispness of the evenings while snuggled next to the Dreamboat.

And on top of that is the realization that another holiday weekend has arrived.

Which means…[cue the bells and whistles]…camping!

I can’t think of a better way to spend the long weekend than outside.  And for those of you in Ontario who are trying to think of something fantastic to do in the great outdoors this weekend, look no further than the Ontario Outdoors website.  You can use the fancy shmancy side bar to find activities in your area, from cycling adventures to art canoe trips.

Or just go straight to the Ontario Parks website and book a nice little day or overnight trip.

Not in Ontario?

Well, I won’t hold it against you. Here are the links for other provincial and territory parks in Canada:

BC, ABSK,  MB, QC, NS, NB, PE, NL, NT, NU, YT

Hopefully you have a great long weekend, no matter where you are.

P.S.  Because of long weekend fun, I won’t be posting anything this Sunday.  Stay tuned for the next post on Wednesday instead.

  1. It seems that every year when August comes, there is a change in the air and I can feel fall coming…we do live in Maine after all. But, the next few days are supposed to be humid and in the 90’s…at least the evenings seem to be cooler 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend camping!

    • If only we could have anise balance of hot, cold, wet and dry weather. It must be exciting to be in the UK during the Olympics. I saw a little of the opening ceremonies on line and they were amazing! Thanks for the comment.
