Wee Urban Modern Organic Baby (Baby Product Review)

There is a craft show in Sudbury twice a year.  I have gone three times now with Grandma N and while there are always beautiful things for sale, I rarely find anything really amazing.  Because the craft show fell on the weekend before Little Man’s first birthday party, I decided to skip the show in favour of some good old fashioned home cleaning.

When Grandma N stopped by after the show to give me the business card for Wee Urban, I was so excited that I went to the craft show an hour before closing just to talk to the owner.  I’m glad I went.  I was provided with an organic onesie to review, and was so impressed that the following day I returned to the craft show to purchase two rompers and a sleep sac.  As for the organic onesie that I was asked to review, this is my impression:

The Wee Urban onesie is made of soft, organic cotton that feels as comfortable as that sweatshirt you can’t seem to give up.  Mind you, we are not talking about a product that had to compromise on beauty for the sake of comfort.  The materials are dyed in one of Canada’s two last remaining dye houses using incredibly rich and vibrant eco-friendly dyes.  If the colour isn’t enough to grab you, the simple, modern animal and nature prints will (check out Little Man in the picture below).  The clean, chic look of the Wee Urban onesie proves that less is more.

The products at Wee Urban tick every box on my wish list, and really represent what this blog is trying to find.  All products are Canadian-made, eco friendly and affordable.  Because the designer is also a mom, you can rest assured that they have been designed with safety in mind. Without the use of flame-retardant chemicals, the products offered by Wee Urban all meet the Health Canada and CPSIA safety requirements.  I only wish that I had heard about Wee Urban sooner.

If you want to try this amazing line on eco-friendly products, I have great news for you. Beginning today, Wee Urban will be offering “Yeah Baby It’s Cold Outside” readers a 15% discount* for online purchases from their website.  Purchases must be made between Friday, April 13th and Friday, April 20th.  At checkout, use the coupon code BABYITSCOLD.

Visit www.weeurban.com to get started.

Disclaimer:  I was provided the Organic Onesie for free to review for Wee Urban.  I have included this review on my blog because this product exceeds my expectations, and fits with the values of “Yeah Baby It’s Cold Outisde.”

*15% discount excludes items already on sale.  If regular items and sale items are purchased together, you will receive a refund based on 15% on the regular priced items.  All items will ship together.

  1. Hi, I’m Linda.. new to this space. Can someone help me find a site that offers natural/ eco-friendly baby products?

I’ve found a few sites but not all their products are organic or eco-friendly, and it’s hard to find a site that has cute stuff.

    • Hi Linda.

That’s a good question. I have run into the same problem. I haven’t found a site yet that has a huge variety of products that are both eco-friendly AND organic.

Unfortunately I think you have to evaluate each item at a time (which can be time consuming). If you are in Canada, a great starting point is Parenting By Nature

      http://www.bynature.ca
-a variety of eco-products, some organic, some not
      -registries are available
-great service (I have ordered from here)

If anyone knows of any great sites that are eco-friendly AND organic, please let me know.
